Is it safe to send my credit card number over the Internet?
When you place a credit card order at Memories of Finland, your credit card number is encrypted with
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the industry standard security method. Encryption ensures that a third party
cannot intercept your information, and this method is safer than using a cordless phone or fax machine
to transmit your credit card number. We never store your credit card information at Memories of Finland,
so there is no risk of your number being stolen from our database.
Is there a way I can order without giving my credit information online?
First, be assured that your credit card information is secure with us. Of course, you
can order by phone at 1-800-529-FINN, or FAX at 443-423-1625; or you
can mail your order to us at our Savage Mill address. Our
order form is available online.
Can I pay by check?
You sure can. Just print our
order form and mail your order to our Savage Mill
address with your check or money order.
What happens when I place an order?
When you click "Place Order", your credit card number is automatically encrypted and sent to
Verisign, our third-party
payment processing service. Within about 30 seconds, Verisign authorizes the charge to your credit card
and relays this information back to our website, but your card is not charged until we ship your order.
When we receive your order, we verify that the order is legitimite, ship it out, and charge your credit
card. For international orders, we will also add on an appropriate international shipping charge prior to
shipping. You always have the option of canceling your order before we ship it.
How long will my order take to ship?
We ship most items within 48 hours of receipt of an order.
Arabia annual plates - within 48 hours
Arabia Dinnerware - approximately 2 weeks. We must order Arabia
products from the US warehouse; after we receive the items, we check
them carefully before sending them to our customers.
Iittala Crystal - Most items are in stock. Otherwise, we must order
from the US warehouse, which takes approximately 2 weeks.

What is your return policy?
If you are not satisfied with your product, you can return it for a full refund (except shipping costs).
If you receive an item damaged in transit, contact the USPS or UPS carrier immediately and they will return the package to us. We will replace your damaged item as soon as we receive it back.
What about sales tax?
Memories of Finland is located in Savage, Maryland and must charge a 5% sales tax to all in-state
orders. There is no tax on the purchase of gift certificates, but purchases made using gift certificates
will be taxed normally.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, we do. Gift certificates can be used online or in our Savage Mill store. If you choose to redeem
a gift certificate on our website, the value will be credited to your account. This credit will then
be applied to future orders. See our

Can you gift wrap a package and send it to another address?
Yes, we can gift wrap your present, include a gift card and ship it for you. Include
your instructions in the Customer Comments section on your order form. There is no
extra charge for this service.
I placed an international order. Why doesn't the shipping cost show up?
International shipping fees vary, depending on the package weight and country of destination. Please allow
us 48 hours to calculate your international shipping fees. You will have an opportunity to
review and cancel your international order before it ships. Please see
our
shipping page for more information.
Why do I have register to place an order?
Your registration is used to store your orders in our system and for other, less essential purposes. In the
event that you need to cancel or dispute an order, it's important that we can associate the order with
your account. In addition, your registration will save you from typing your address every time you place an
order, and registration allows you to receive our newsletter.
Will my account information be kept confidential?
Absolutely. Under no circumstances will we give out any of your personal information to any third party
other than
Verisign, our payment processing service. Verisign uses this information for the sole
purpose of authorizing credit card purchases and will not release your information to any other parties. Please
